My love for reading has always been a beacon in my life, guiding me through the pages of countless stories that have shaped my understanding of the world and myself. It's a passion that transcends mere hobby; it's a part of who I am. This profound love for literature led me to connect my personal joy of reading with my professional life, blossoming into a fulfilling career in voice-over, specifically focusing on reading audiobooks. Being able to bring stories to life through the timbre and nuances of my voice has been an incredibly rewarding journey. It's a unique way to share my love for books with others, allowing me to contribute to the storytelling process in a meaningful way.
During Black History Month, this connection becomes even more special as I delve into black novels, using my voice to amplify these important stories and their authors. Among the treasured works are "Let Us Descend" by J.L. Powers, "Master Slave, Husband Wife" by Ilyon Woo, and "The Last Slave Ships" by John Harris, alongside "The Water Dancer" by Ta-Nehisi Coates and "Homegoing" by Yaa Gyasi. These novels offer a profound insight into the African American experience, and I take great pride in being a conduit through which their stories are heard.
Happy Reading!
